It was awesome talking to all of you last night at the meeting about CollegeOutside.com, but in case you missed it, I’m attaching some more info in addition to registration and guideline links.

About:

A few months ago I started writing about my own personal adventures in the outdoors, in addition to documenting the mistakes I’ve made and the things I’ve learned from them. I realized that this could be an incredible resource if expanded to the Tufts Mountain Club, and then eventually to other schools’ outdoors clubs.

That’s why I decided to create CollegeOutside.com. It’s an online magazine and resource for us to document our experiences and inspire our peers. It’s a place to pass down knowledge and celebrate our accomplishments.

This site is all about sharing what we’ve learned, and helping our peers not make the same mistakes we did.

Whether you want to write just once, or once a week, this is a great opportunity to gain experience in the journalism field, in addition to gaining some street-cred within the outdoor industry and playground. You don’t have to be a pro-writer, or pro-climber, you just have to be passionate about the things you do after classes and on the weekends.

Stoked about your new pair of boots that you bought 50% off?

Found the best climbing/hammocking tree on campus?

Filmed a sick video of VICEfest?

Fired up about your first overnight camping trip?

Created a bomb-proof layering system for ice climbing?

Have some awesome photos from last weekend up north?
